Bart and Moses

Bart lives near Tallahassee, Florida, where he spends his time painting, drawing and teaching art.  His studio is located next to his home.  The walls are covered with his art work, works in progress and objects of interest that he uses in his still lifes and drawing and painting classes.  He is a second generation artist and a graduate of Florida State University with a Masters in Fine Art.  He shows his work in galleries in the North Florida area.

Although Bart is a figurative artist, grounded in the impressionistic tradition, his interests in drawing and painting subjects range from the human figure and portraits to Florida landscapes, big cats and still lifes.  He looks for, responds to, and strives to capture the beauty and intrigue that he sees in the people, wildlife, landscapes and objects that surround him.

Bart is currently working on imaginative realism pieces and several nudes.  Also in progress is a life-size portrait sculpture in clay to be cast in bronze.  On the planning table for the near future is a large landscape of the dunes at St. George Island and a painting trip to the mountains of North Carolina.

"I enjoy having the freedom to seek out what interests me and piques my artistic curiosity.  I express these visual subjects in line and color on paper and canvas, and soon-to-be in bronze, using these materials in a time tested tradition."
